Mr. Hertis R. McVey age 89 of Orchard Rd, Ellijay died Saturday January 29, 2011.Mr. McVey was born on April 3, 1921 in Fannin Co. He is the son of the late Green Berry McVey and Dora Conley McVey. He worked at Millwood Flooring in the hardwood division and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He is preceded in death by his wife Claudia James McVey.

Survivors include: Daughters and sons-in-law: Glenda and Ronnie Sentell, Ellijay, Judy and Gerald Fowler, Jasper, Delpha and Ernie Callaway, Augusta, Deborah and Jackie Dotson, Ellijay; Son and daughter-in-law: Bill and Myra McVey, Ellijay; 10 Grandchildren; 18 Great grandchildren; Sisters: Helen Jones, Cartersville, Thelma Hardin, Cartersville, Mary Ruth Sisson, Griffin, Jo Jones, Epworth; Brother: Jimmy McVey, Ellijay; Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday January 31, 2011 at 2pm from the Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. David Nicholson, Rev. Jerry Banks, Rev. Russell Hood and Rev. Larry Waddell officiating. Interment will be held in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Sunday, January 30 from 3pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
