The Trees in the Forest

Opinion

I am not in a position to take sides in this Republican primary contest, and will not, yet. However, certain truths need to be understood and the shocking results of the South Carolina Republican Primary have revealed them. The shocked political pundits of the elitist Big Government crowd, those who want to maintain the political status quo, have long told us that only one candidate can possibly defeat the Marxist usurper, Barak Hussain (peace be upon him) Obama and that one is the former Governor of Massachusetts whose policies, enacted while he was the Governor, are there, in black and white, for all to see. That might explain why, over the years, his approval ratings never rise above 25% and still didn’t in South Carolina. Indeed, he could probably defeat Obama (peace be upon him) in a land slide. But, anyone can! Any one!

The former Speaker of the House, himself a tarnished figure, is one who made positive and significant political changes in the Clinton administration when he was serving as Speaker. His conservative record is also there, in black and white, for all to see, including warts and all. And yet, despite all the negative press from the Obama Commentariat (MSM), he ran away with South Carolina’s electoral votes and the pundits wonder why? A veritable flurry of political punditism’s suggesting the South Carolina electorate are unsophisticated rubes who don’t care about personal ethics, or are easily swayed by his brilliant oratory, simply don’t see the forest for the trees.

The forest is Big Government and actually, the electorate does see and understand. They know that most of the trees in that forest are rotten and tainted by big money (Banks). The “Speaker” simply articulates that knowledge in words and methods that they understand. Yes, he had a contract with Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac. So what? Yes, he’s had three wives and the tawdry business surrounding those relationships are also there for all to see, but, he’s a political fighter, tells it like it is, reveals truths, and slaps down the elite Obama media with the ease of slapping at flies.

South Carolina voters, like a majority of Americans, distrust and despise the Left wing extremist media and all they stand for. Any candidate who can knock their socks off is going to get a leg up on the candidate of the Big Government elites. Voters are still aware that the MSM Commentariat gave us the nincompoop, John McCain as our 2008 Presidential candidate. The electorate are clearly suspicious that they are trying to do it again. The Speaker has bridged that gap, his weaknesses and follies be damned. And, the people don’t really care any more. A little tarnish can be burnished despite the pundits desires.

The Congressman from Texas, a Libertarian, is also unafraid to tell the “Constitutional” truths. He too clearly sees the rotten trees in the forest and, in his way, wants to pull America back from the precipice of destruction. He clearly articulates his positions and supports them with the words right out of the Constitution. His problem is that Americans have too long been compliant with the slow encroachment of big government and don’t recognize or don’t want to recognize the imminent peril he so clearly sees.

The former Senator from Pennsylvania, has all but been ignored by the MSM Commentariat, yet, there he still stands in the race. He campaigns on moral and social issues that have weakened America and yet he campaigns more against the former Speaker. He apparently has no hidden women problems to beset him but yet, he too speaks to the conservative truths as he see them with a Senatorial record of accomplishment and, by MSM Commentariat standards, comes off as a right wing extremist, a nut case.

To the voters in South Carolina, and I suspect, elsewhere, those terms are losing their meaning as is “racist”, “dangerous” and “out of touch”. The conservative voters want a fighter. They want to see the attack on Obama (peace be upon him) start right now, today, during this campaign and they don’t care about who once worked for whom except, one suspects, that it might be Goldman Sacs, et. al. Obama is the danger! we want our candidates to keep reminding the voters of that over and over again, no matter who the candidate is. I can’t make up my mind either but I know this: Freedom is the goal and the Constitution is the way. Go get ‘em!
