William “Bill” Carl Day, Sr. age 63, of the Big Creek Community, passed at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Georgia, in the early morning of Friday, February 8th, 2013.He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay, Georgia. Bill was born on October 6th, 1949, to his late father, Marvin Martin Day, Sr. and his surviving mother, Willie Hernietta Harris Day, in Anniston, Calhoun County, Alabama. He was a honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran. A graduate of Anniston High School Class of 1967, and Jacksonville State University Class of 1972. He was employed by Telaid Communications, as a project engineer in the telecommunications field. Donations may be made to the South Carolina Inn, Post Office Box 670, Montreat, North Carolina, 28757, in memory of Mr. Day. Mr.

Day is survived by his loving wife, Mary Janet Warren Day, of the Home in Ellijay, Georgia, daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Brandon Johnson of Charlotte, North Carolina, son William Carl Day, Jr. of Ellijay, Georgia, grandchildren, James, Caroline, and Kathryn Day, and Harper Johnson, mother Willie Henrietta Day of Huntsville, Alabama, sisters Henrietta Day Wooten and Lillian Day Jeffers booth of Huntsville, Alabama, and Susan Day Humphreys of New Hope, Alabama, brothers Marvin Day, Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, and Harris Day of Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

A Celbration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay at 2:00 p.m. Satruday, February 16th, 2013, with Dr. Danny Barton and Rev. Barbara Kalehoff-Hicks officating.
