Every dog has its day! This certainly rings true for Parker, the beautiful adopted little ball of fur that was one of Tri State Pet Rescue’s very own rescues!!! Parker’s in the Puppy Bowl Lineup and here’s how that happened.
Pet rescue groups make a difference and here is a fine example. Jan Eaton, of Tri State Pet Rescue is always excited to help save a pup but was especially proud of the fate of this little fellow. Ms. Eaton told us that the rescue’s partner group in the Rochester, NY area is fabulous and put us in touch with Parker’s adopter, Ms. Chelsea Clyde. FetchYourNews.com spoke with Chelsea via email to find out how Parker found his way into Puppy Bowl 2014.

Chelsea Clyde & Parker

Chelsea Clyde is Parker’s new mommy and told FYN that it all started with her working at Scottsville vet and adoptions. Chelsea states she was always a dog lover and ended up adopting two brothers from there. She started working in the adoptions area and on one of the rescues, Piper; (Parker’s Mom) came with all her babies. Parker was very tiny compared to his siblings and she knew he needed to be hand fed. So she began fostering him at 2 weeks old.

“He was a cutie I got to feed him bottles and brought him with me everywhere I went.”

When Parker was approximately 8 weeks old (Scottsville) got an invitation to try out for the puppy bowl and they chose him,

“Probably because he’s so adorable and a little wild man.”

They drove to NYC and began filming. Parker was so excited and has become quite the traveler and loved meeting all the pups. He did a great job playing in the water and defending the end zone. After returning to Scottsville Parker became available for adoption,

“After having him 10 weeks I knew I couldn’t part with him” says Chelsea. “He’s my baby and spoiled but I felt we both needed each other.”

Parker will start puppy school soon. Chelsea told FYN,

“I am so thankful that he got brought to us from Georgia and can’t imagine now having him.”

Parker is a Labrador Retriever/Husky Mix with beautiful blue eyes and comes from Georgia with an autograph from UGA, the University of Georgia mascot. Look for Parker in the 2014 Puppy Bowl as the event will return to Animal Planet’s Geico Stadium to celebrate its 10th anniversary on Feb 2nd. The fur football fun airs 3 to 5 p.m. EST hours prior to the official NFL Super Bowl.
