Louis Tye Collins, age 93 of Woodstock, GA., formerly of Ellijay, GA., passed on Saturday morning, April 5th, 2014.He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay, a member of the Ellijay Lions Club and a Free and Accepted Mason. Mr. Collins was born October 18th, 1920, in McDonough, GA., to his late parents Lewis Treadwell Collins and Lucia Tye Maddox Collins. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during WWII as a Photographer’s Mate, First Class. He was a graduate of Acworth High School, Class of 1940 and attended Atlanta Business College in 1947 and 1948. Mr. Collins was employed as a salesman with Eastman Kodak. He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Dorothy B. Collins; sister and brother in-law Ruth and Ruel Bettis; brothers and sisters-in-law Horace and Medely Collins, J.L. and Olive Collins, Daniel G. and Evelyn Collins, son-in-law Alan L. Suit. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to the Georgia Masonic Children’s Home, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, GA. 31211, in memory of Louis Collins.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law Mitse Suit of Woodstock, GA., Lisa and James Kiser of Seneca, SC, sons and daughter-in-law Louis T. Collins, Jacksonville, FL., Robert T and Lili Collins of Jacksonville, FL. Seven Grandchildren, and Nine Great Grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Danny Barton officiating. Military Graveside Service will follow at the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with military rites performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 am until the service hour at Logan Funeral Home.
