LapSit Storytime

“Double, Double, Toil and Trouble”. LapSit is a great way to introduce early literacy skills to your child. Ages 1-3 with an adult.

Special Halloween Storytime

A Haunted Halloween. Come dressed in your costume! Our Halloween Storytime is followed by a simple craft for kids 9 and under with adult.

Monster Bash
Saturday, October 31 @ 2:00 PM
Music, crafts, games, and more! Come dressed in your costume for the costume contest. For ages 7-11. Kids 9 and under with adult supervision please.

Young Adult Programs

Teen Coding – Blockly
Monday, October 26 @ 5:00 PM
Come learn the basics of coding. We are currently learning Blockly. Blockly is a visual editor that allows users to write programs by plugging blocks together. Each meeting will build on the previous, but you can work at your own pace. No computer at home? No problem! Join at any time! Ages 12 and up.

Multi-Coloured

Think coloring is just kid’s stuff? Think again! If you’re looking for stress relief, a boost to your creative juices or just a minute of downtime with friends, then you should join us Tuesdays in October from 11AM-1PM. Coloring sheets, pencils, crayons and markers are provided. You supply a youthful and creative spirit.
Excel Basics

Excel 101 will focus on teach Excel beginners how to input data, format the spreadsheet, and use simple Excel functions. An active library card and registration are required.
Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, October 28 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit or crochet, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.
Paranormal 101
Thursday, October 29 @ 6:00 PM
Paranormal Georgia Investigators present: How PGI investigators research paranormal activity including some of the organization’s findings. There will be a Q&A period following the presentation. Light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Gilmer County Library.

All books gift-worthy are the special feature in the Bookshelf this week. You’ll find special editions, coffee table books, and fine bindings in a wide range of topics, perfect for a gift or a treat for yourself.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
