Jane Tutt Combs was born on January 23, 1928, in Campton, KY. She passed away on Wednesday December 30, 2015 in Canton, GA. Jane spent most of her adult life in the Dayton and Kettering, OH area. Early on in Dayton she worked at the Jackson Electric Company where she helped create and found its first union for the workers there. She finished her work career at Apex Tool where she worked for over twenty-five years as an inspector.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband John W. Combs of fifty-two years; her sisters Juanita Tutt and Elizabeth Warner; brothers Charles Tutt, Silas E. Tutt and her parents Frank Tutt and Dixie Cable Tutt.

Jane is survived by her son Dr. Yondal Ray Combs and wife Christine Frangipane Combs of Ellijay, GA. She is also survived by a brother, Stephen L. Tutt of Campton, KY. In addition, she is survived by two grandchildren, Christina Hedwig Willis and John Winter Simon as well as six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services for Jane will be held at the Bernhardt Funeral Home in Ellijay, GA on Thursday December 31, 2015 at 4pm with a visitation from 2pm until the service hour. There will be a brief service at Porter and Sons Funeral Home in Campton, KY on Saturday January 2, 2016 at 2pm with a visitation from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will follow in the Evans Crossing Cemetery in Campton, KY.

Jane was a longtime supporter of the Association for Disabled Veterans, the Alzheimer’s Association and the Hospice Foundation. In lieu of flowers it is requested by the family that donations be made in her memory to any of these most deserving organization.
