This week’s theme is “Cuddly Cats” February’s story themes are all about the pets, animals, and how we love them. All ages welcome. Story time and LapSit are excellent ways to strengthen your children’s literacy skills, and all stories are always followed by a simple craft you can complete with your child.

Lego Mindstorm Robots

Create, build, control and play with LEGO Robotics. You tear them apart and build them back up. These robots are massive fun.  This program is for ages 9-16. Registration is required. Call 706-635-4528 to register. This program is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to Georgia Public Library Service under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act.

Puppetry Arts

We usually hold puppet shows in the afternoon but this month we are taking advantage of the school break. Come be entertained as we tell the story of “Who Done It” through the magic of Join us for this mysterious puppet show which is followed by a simple craft. Kids 9 and under with adult supervision please

Inside Out

School is out for a few days, so bring the kids to the library!  We’re watching the recently released “Inside Out” and doing some fun related activities and refreshments.  Kids 9 and under with adult supervision please.

Internet Skills

We teach the basics of how to get on the Internet, search for and navigate websites, and use web email. Limited spots available. Registration is recommended.

Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, February 17 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! It’s OK if can’t come to all the meetings. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color.  If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color. This is a “drop in when you can” event.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

Music is in the air this week at the Bookshelf where you’ll find a huge collection of gently used CD’s including many unusual classical titles. Fill out your listening library for only $1.00 each.

Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
