Clear Creek Baseball Nears End of Inaugural Season

CCMS Baseball, Team FYN Sports

In its first season of existence, the Clear Creek Middle School Bobcats baseball contingent has experienced a campaign full of offensive and defensive struggles, as CCMS attempts to work out the kinks in preparation for the 2017 season.

Still, the coaches and athletes on the team have held their heads high and battled through the adversity.

After a 7-0 loss in their first-ever home game March 1 dropped Clear Creek to 0-3 for the season, the Bobcats have yet to achieve a victory. The games that followed led to a 12-2 loss March 7 on the road at Pickens, a 18-0 home loss to Union March 10, an 11-1 loss the next day at home to Sonoraville, a 10-0 loss on the road at Calhoun last Monday, a 10-0 loss at White County last Wednesday, a rain-shortened 3-0 loss to Lumpkin last Thursday and a 20-0 loss at home yesterday against Calhoun.

The Bobcats are looking to avoid a winless season when they host the White County Warriors in the season finale tomorrow at Woody Field at the Gilmer County Recreation and Parks Department. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
