Join us for this week’s story “A Pirate’s Life For Me!” All ages welcome. Family Story Time is an excellent ways to strengthen your children’s literacy skills, and all stories are always followed by a simple craft you can complete with your child.
The Lego Crew

Lego Crew has a different theme each month. Children can work alone or in teams to make their own special creations, which will be displayed at the library until the next month’s meeting. Lego Crew is open to anyone who want to participate.

Adult Programs

Lunch & Learn Knitting
Wednesday, September 7 @ 12:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Lauren Cape and Lynda Decker will be your host and teacher. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! It’s OK if can’t come to all the meetings. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color
GCGSI Monthly Program

This month’s speaker is the charming Carolyn Bunce who created the Gilmer County Heritage Quilt. This project took a decade to complete and the quilt helps to document past and present local resources and areas of interest.
Master Gardeners Make-N-Take Workshop
Saturday, September 10 @ 10:00 AM
Hypertuffa – This workshop will be held outside at the DIG. All are welcome to participate in this educational program. Optional: For a fee that covers the cost of materials, attendees can take home a hyper tufa container. You may sign up at the Gilmer County Extension Office or at the Saturday Farmer’s Market held beside the county courthouse.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

Garden now! Fall is the very best time to garden and the Bookshelf has a great collection of books on all phases of garden planning. Learn how to improve and enhance your garden and find out how to fix problem spots while you can see them.
Thinking of donating books to the library? Do it now! The newer the books, the more likely they are to be added to the library’s collection. They will also be welcome at the Bookshelf and appreciated by our customers.
