FUNDING IS AVAILABLE:  Are you currently not attending school and between the ages of 16 and 24 years old and need additional assistance with childcare and transportation so you may obtain your GED, high school diploma or additional job skills training so you can improve your employability skills in order to work in your career field of interest?  The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) in Gilmer County may be able to assist you in reaching your educational and career goals.  If you meet the criteria for eligibility, the WIOA program can assist you with funding. WIOA is short for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. It is a federal based program. Our Main office is in Rome, Ga at the Northwest Georgia Regional Commissions Office. The Gilmer WIOA is based out of Gilmer High School and offers services to In School youth: placing in jobs and helping them earn employability skills. We also offer services to Out of school youth: transportation assistance,  childcare assistance and helping them obtain a GED/High School Diploma if needed. Our program year runs from July 1st to June 30th.
