DUNN PLEADS GUILTY

News

Former Chief Executive Officer for Sunlink Health Systems Inc., Jeffery Mark Dunn has plead guilty in his case,” sources tell FYN. Dunn was charged on 45 counts of felony theft by deception and one felony count of violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.

On Friday, March 10, Dunn, age 50, appeared in court in Fannin County Superior Court with many expecting a not guilty plea and movement into a full trial.

According to information gained by FYN, the DA’s office did offer Dunn a Negotiated Plea Deal including a 10 year sentence and $15,000 fine. However, a plea deal like this can be altered or rejected in court. FYN has attempted to contact District Attorney Allison Sosebee to confirm the details that were finally agreed upon.

This news comes fresh on the heels of Piedmont’s ribbon cutting of their new Emergency Department in Gilmer County at the location of the former North Georgia Medical Center. Stay tuned to FYN as we continue following the case and to hear the confirmed details from Sosebee.
