Mrs. Margareta Frankenberger Abt, age 96 of the Coosawattee community, Ellijay, GA, passed April 2nd, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Abt was born December 19th, 1920 in Germany to her late parents Georg and Kunigunde Schmidt Frankenberger. While she lived in Germany she worked as a weaver in a textile mill, and when she moved to the United States she worked as a maintenance supervisor for an office complex. Margareta attended Grace Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA. She loved visiting the beach, sewing and crocheting, and completing word searches.

She is survived by her daughter, Hannelore “Hanna” Kosmalla of the home in Ellijay, GA; granddaughter and in-law, Jackie and Gudi Robertson of Etowah, TN; great grandchildren and in-law, Joshua and Tonya Keehn and Tyler Keehn; great great grandchildren, Brianna and Brooklynn Keehn; step grandchildren, Serina Cochran, Kayley Robertson and Kaitlyn Robertson; nieces, Petra, Anja, and Sabina, all of Germany; sister-in-law Hannelore Frankenberger of Germany also survives.

Memorial services will be held at 4pm on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 from the Grace Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA with Dr. Jeffery Walls officiating. Music and vocals will be by Brianna Keehn.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 922 E Morris Street, Dalton, GA 30721 in memory of Mrs. Abt.

Family will receive friends following the service at the church.
