The Gilmer Bobcats traveled south down 515 Friday night to play the 2-2 Dragons team that has several offensive and defensive weapons, and they used every one of them to beat the Bobcats 62-0. The 0-6 Bobcats however did show some improvement as far as defense goes, they were all quick on the ball and showed awareness where the ball was and where it went. The Bobcats offense is still having a hard time moving the ball, not being able to open gaps for the run game or being able to keep the heat off of D. Smith to prevent loss of yardage plays or giving up a sack.
Gilmers Defense did force a fumble but wasn’t able to come away with any points and had to punt the ball back to the Dragons but the Dragons had a 37 yard punt return for a TD. Gilmers offense had a bad snap fumble which was ran back for a TD for the Dragons defense with it adding insult to injury for the cats. The Bobcats will host the South East Whitfield County Raiders in two weeks at Huff Mosely Memorial Stadium. With a bye week the Bobcats will need to work on all sides of the ball if they plan on coming away with a victory against the 5-1 Raiders. Come on out and support YOUR GILMER BOBCATS!!!!!
