Mrs. Carolyn Chastain O’Dell, age 72 of Ellijay died Thursday November 2, 2017.

Mrs. O’Dell was born November 12, 1944 in Cartersville, the daughter of the late Rev. Herbert and Pluma Farist Chastain. She was a graduate of Gilmer High school, homemaker and worked in customer service at United Community Bank.

Survivors include: husband; Harold O’Dell, children, Christy O’Dell and Chris Belyeu, Stacey and Brad Stewart all of Ellijay, brothers and sister-in-law’s, Claude and Betty Chastain, Ellijay, Sallie Chastain Shell, Canton, sisters and brothers-in-law’s; Aline Chastain Nealey-Baughn and Lloyd Baughn, Marietta, Dot and Lloyd Cain, Ellijay, 2 grandchildren Caleb Bracken, Braley Stewart, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00pm from the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Cantrell, Rev. Russell Burt, Rev. Scott Chastain, Rev. Joey Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Saturday from noon until 9:00pm at the funeral home.
