Mrs. Joanne Weise Cleberg: Obituary

Obituaries

In loving memory of our mom, Joanne Weise Cleberg, 82, who passed from this life on November 4, into the hands of her heavenly Father.  Mom was born in Blue Earth, MN on Sep. 1, 1935 and met the love of her life, Harvey, in 1953 in Mankato, MN where they both attended school.  They married in Blue Earth, MN and moved to Madison, WI where Harvey was born and raised.  Mom and Dad were married for 52 years before Dad passed away in 2006.  They gave us kids the most secure and loving upbringing that any child could hope for.  Mom worked as a hairdresser for over 40 years and still managed complete devotion to her family.  She was an excellent cook, and the best apple pie maker in the world.  Mom and Dad taught us, among many other things, the value of hard work, taking responsibility for our lives and the importance of dedication to family.  Mom loved the lord and loved her church family at Hope Lutheran Church here in Ellijay, where she was involved in the Quilting Group and participated in the Ladies Bible Study group.  She also enjoyed painting and reading and she loved playing her organ.

Mom is survived by her three children, Christine Cleberg, of Ellijay, and sons Kenneth (and wife, Sharmae) and Robin (and wife, Lori) both of whom reside in Debary, FL.  Three grandchildren, Spencer Edwards (and wife, Heather) of Woodstock, GA, Tyler Cleberg who resides in Eustis, FL, and Raechel Cleberg who resides in Deltona, FL; and great-grandson, Benjamin Edwards.  She is also survived by her sister, Lois Schaetzel of Waupun, WI and brother, Wayne Weise of Blue Earth, MN.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey and by three brothers, Merle, Ronnie and Daniel Weise, and sister, Delores Gudahl.

The memorial service and celebration of life for Mom will be held on Friday, November 17 at 2 pm at Hope Lutheran Church in Ellijay, GA, with fellowship following the service.  The family asks that any donations be made to the Hope Lutheran Church Columbarium Fund.

Mom, we will never forget you and Dad and all that you sacrificed for us.  With love, Chris, Ken and Rob.
