Bobcats Get Region Win On The Road

The Cats of Gilmer took to the road on Friday and arrived at Ridgeland High School ready for a win to avoid the three game sweep.  The Cats would strike first scoring a quick run in the first with Hunter Bowyer crossing the plate after reaching base on a 4 pitch walk. Taking a 1-0 lead into the second inning, the Bobcats picked up were they left off by putting 3 hits and a walk together to plate another run.

The Cats cooled of at the plate in the third going in order and managed to extend the lead over the following two innings plating 1 run in the fourth and 2 more runs in the fifth innings of play.

The Cats defense would hold strong behind a well pitched game by Evan Frady.  Frady went 7 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits 2 walks and 4 strikeouts.  The win for the Cats stops a 5 game skid and has the Cats at 3-12 overall for the season.  The offensive heros for the Cats were Evan Frady 2-4, Eric Turner 2-4, Will Barnes 2-4 and Jonas Griggs 2-2 and a walk.

The Cats will travel to Lafayette on Tuesday March 20 for yet another big region game.  First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
