Bobcats Come Up Short To Generals

Team FYN Sports

As Thursday afternoon approached, the Bobcats were preparing to host the Generals of Heritage High School in Game two of the three game series.  The Generals took game one in dominating fashion and were riding an undefeated region season at 13-0 coming in to Thursday game.  Coach Jeff Thurman sent Senior Brooks Rosser to the hill to shut down the powerful offense of the Generals.  Though Rosser threw well enough to get the win, the Bobcats couldn’t give him any run support.  Rosser went 6 innings and on 101 pitches allowed 6 hits, 4 walks and 3 runs all earned.  Rosser had 9 strikeouts with 51 of his 101 pitches being strikes.

Offensively, Heritage scored their runs in the first, fourth and seventh innings while Gilmer pushed their only run on the day across the plate in the fourth.  The Cats had sever opportunities through out the game with 8 hits on the day.  Leading the way for the Cats were Brooks Rosser 3-3, Tyler Woody, Hunter Bowyer, McKinley Chadwick and Sam Nicholson all had one hit each for the Cats.

With this loss, The Bobcats fall to 8-19 overall on the season with two games left.  Next up for the Bobcats will be at Heritage on Friday starting at 5:30.  The last game of the regular season will be on Monday April 16 at home against Trion.  The Bobcats will usher out the regular season with Senior Night.
