Margie Defoor Sales

Mrs. Margie J. DeFoor Sales, age 80, of Ellijay, died Tuesday November 27, 2018.

Mrs. Sales was born March 8, 1938 in Gilmer County the daughter of the late J.O. and Ruth Mae Painter DeFoor.  She was a graduate of Gilmer High School Class of 1956, retired from the Gilmer County Board of Education, having worked in food service and was a member of the Gates Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: husband; Jerry Hill Sales, son; Jimmy Sales, Ellijay, daughter and son-in-law: Rhesa and J.W. Chastain, Ellijay, sister and brother-in-law: Shirley and Tom Low, Ellijay.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Mathis officiating.  Music will be by Rev. Irene Wofford. Pallbearers are: Sam Low, Daniel Low, Scott Sales, Marvin Chance, Keith Sumner and Jason Smith. Interment will be in the Gates Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Gates Chapel Church in care of Evelyn Hammontree 5311 Gates Chapel Rd. Ellijay Ga 30540 in memory of Mrs. Sales.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.
