Black Friday at East Ellijay Wal-mart had all specials surrounded with shoppers in anticipation of the great deal they could get – shrink wrapped pallets lined the aisles and all checkout lanes were open.
The parking lot was without an empty spot as massive crowds were controlled and at Midnight the pushing and shoving began as the crowd moved in to “grab that deal!” According to the East Ellijay Police Dept scuffles broke out and a few shoppers had to be removed prior to the “midnight” hour when the specials became available. We decided to try BrandsMart USA in Doraville instead of the Ellijay Walmart at midnight on Black Friday. The line went all the way around the building and when we got inside, you could barely breathe because of the crowd. We were impressed by the level of security and store personnel which forced an orderly shopping experience. The 30 checkout lines were all manned and we checked out in a short amount of time. We were glad we made the decision to try another retailer for greater selection and an overall enjoyable experience.
