Free and Reduced School Meals on the Rise

Featured Stories, News

The latest Board of Education Food Report shows an increase in free and reduced meals. During a Board of Education Meeting last week, January 10th, Food and Nutrition Director Linda Waters noted the percentage of free and reduced meals has increased since last report. Waters said that a new program the County uses matches up students’ families who receive food stamps with free and reduced meals eligibility.

“It does help the school nutrition budget for you to have a higher percent of free and reduced because the Government gives us more money for the free and reduced meals,”

Water said, commenting on the increase.
