The Gilmer High School Lady Bobcats volleyball team’s season came to an end in the second round of the consolation bracket of the Region 7AAA tournament. For the fourth time in four years the Lady “Cats” matched claws with the Lady Catamounts of Dalton. Dalton swept Gilmer winning 2-0, effectively ending the Gilmer volleyball season.
Gilmer began the tournament with a hard back and fourth battle with Northwest. Gilmer was the higher seed (4) and therefore able to host the lower seeded Lady Bruins (5).
The Lady “Cats” eventually fell 2-1 to the Lady Bruins, which set up a consolation first round match up with Lafayette.
Gilmer ravaged the ramblers quickly, winning the first two games to sweep the sets and move onto its date with Dalton.
The Lady Bobcats scratched and clawed but were unable to clear the Catamounts off the court.
