Theresa Carboni Levine : Obituary

Mrs. Levine attended the Good Samaritan Catholic Church of Ellijay. She was born on August 22nd, 1915 in New Haven, Connecticut, to her late parents Caesar and Mary DeFelice Carboni, both Italian immigrants, who passed by way of Ellis Island, and was the eldest of seven children. Mrs. Levine was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and earned a two year degree at Kent State, Kent, OH. She had a long life, with great memories of trips abroad, as well as trips throughout the United States, after her employment at Dahlgard Motors in Lakeworth, FL. Mrs. Levine spent her most recent years living in the Assisted Living Center, Cameron Hall of Ellijay, where she attended all of the offered activities. She enjoyed her family and friends, loved to sing, and was a wiz at crossword puzzles. She was famous for her roast pork and passatelli soup, which was devoured at every holiday. Theresa was an avid reader and her favorite author was J. D. Robb. She always had the best jokes, both clean and colorful. Theresa was a true trooper and fighter, she railed when others would have given up, her memories will fill our hearts and she will be missed.

She is preceded in death by husband Samuel Levine, son Robert M. Serrano of Boynton Beach, FL., and daughter Mary Louise Ross of Ocala, FL.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 7th, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Catholic Church with Father Charles Byrd officiating. Friends are invited to attend.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Linda and Hans Kuny of Kuttigen, Switzerland; son and daughter-in-law Gene and Kathy Levine of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren A.J. Harris and Mark Farrington and one great-grandchild; sister Eleanor Avitable of East Haven, CT; brothers Marshall Carboni of Brandford, CT, Robert Carboni of Sudbury, MA; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
