James C. Lyons : Obituary

Mr. Lyons was born June 21,1935 in Clinton, Iowa the son of the late Clarence and Anna Bittger Lyons. He was a graduate of Lyons High School and worked for RPS as a delivery man. Mr. Lyons served in the Iowa National Guard and was a charter member of the Hope Lutheran Church, where he was former president of the board and was former president of the Coosawattee Property Owner’s Association. He was preceded in death by a brother John Lyons.

Survivors include: Wife: Jean Lyons of the home, Son and daughter-in-law: Kevin and Jennifer Lyons, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Daughter and son-in-law: Natalie and Randy McCroy, Rogers, AK, Step-children and in laws; Vickie Burkett, Decatur, MI, Steven and Darlene Meyer, Salt Lake City, Utah; Laura and Dustin Wingate, Vanlue, Ohio; Scott and Sue Meyer, Houston, TX Brother; Thomas Lyons, Chatsworth, GA 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be held Saturday February 2, 2013 at 1:00pm from the Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor David Smedley officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hope Lutheran Church Building Fund 3295 Old Hwy 5S Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mr. Lyons.

The family will meet with friends after the service.
