UPDATED INFORMATION: 3:00 - Helicopter searching for suspect in shooting - James Stafford suspected in shooting may be in vicinity of North Georgia Medical Center and James Stafford's car abandoned behind North Georgia Medical center where it's believed suspect fled on foot - if you see Stafford call 911 - do not approach!

Gilmer Sheriff's office, now being assisted by Fannin Sheriff's Office, asking the community to be on the lookout for James Stafford. Mr. Stafford is a suspect in a shooting that occurred near Simmons Rd. it's believed Stafford was spotted near the North Georgia Medical Center.
Sheriff Nicholson has ask everyone to be cautious and if you believe you spot the suspect -DO NOT APPROACH - call 911 immediately. The search helicopter and search dogs are assisting in the manhunt as well. There could be a 2nd suspect possibly in the vicinity of Roy road. Everyone should be alert and report to 911 immediately should you have any information.
