Gilmer Nursing Home held their 36th Annual Pageant last Thursday evening February 28th. The theme this year was "Mardi Gras", Let The Good Times Roll...
The pageant was emceed by Tammy Baker, Activity Director and special entertainment was provided by the Cleve Oliver and the River Park Band. As the pageant was taking place, Joe Pflueger & the GHS Jazz Band performed.
During the evening there was a presentation of awards. Best personality went to Edna Portwood, most popular was Eugene McClure, best looking female, Evelyn King, and best looking male, Duane Sevcech.
Once the king and queen candidates were interviewed, everyone in attendance cast their ballots for the king and queen. The king candidates were Tom Collins, Adolph Moebs, Billy Williams and J.L. Wright. The queen contestants were Gretchen Haas, Betty Pinson, Rachel Ridings and Ruth Stallings.
This year the winners of Mr. and Mrs. Gilmer Nursing Home are: Billy Williams and Ruth Stallings.
The activity room was well decorated with a "Mardi Gras" theme and refreshments were provided. A good time was had by all.
