When the Gilmer county BOE returned from executive session, which lasted about 30 min, chairman James Waters said next item on the agenda is a termination agreement with the superintendent.Waters then asked for a motion. Waters made the motion and Jim Parmer seconded the motion. Before the vote Gary Hyde made a motion to table the vote which Waters denied. The vote was three to two. James Waters, Jim Parmer and Angie Thomas voting yes, Gary Hyde and Michael Bramlett voting no.

Gary Hyde made a short comment thanking Dorsey for his accomplishments and wishing him well. Dorsey stood up and shook hands with each board member. As he left, the packed room stood and applauded. Most in the room seemed to be there in support of Dorsey. Dorsey left with what is estimated to be around $350,000. FYN will ask for a copy of the final agreement.

Before adjourning, the board voted unanimously to appoint Principal CCMS Jason Kouns as interim superintendent.
