Gilmer Arts – Autumn Art Exhibition

Gilmer Arts held its Juried Autumn Art Exhibition Nov 8th with beautiful works of art by talented artists. Those attending enjoyed viewing a vibrant display of various paintings, ceramic tile, mixed media, photography, sculptures, and pottery.

Alan R. Young, Juror, has juried over 10 art competitions and is an accomplished wildlife artist. Young is also an instructor of beginning and advanced drawing. He resides in Jasper and shows from here to West Virginia with birds of Appalachia his signature work. He has also served as a Board Member of the Blue Ridge Mountains Art Association.

Young told us when choosing the award winners he makes his decision based on eye appeal, work originality, clear focal point, natural flow, and balance.

All participants brought a unique beauty and creativity to be appreciated. Gilmer Arts was thankful for all participating artists, believing the competition was able to “display works that showcase the breadth of talent that makes up the art community in North Georgia.” Additional information can be found by visiting www.GilmerArts.org.
