Imogene Jones, age 73 of Ellijay, Georgia died on Thursday evening, January 9, 2014, at the North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia.
Born Tuesday, May 7, 1940 in Ellijay, Georgia to her late parents Clayton and Rosa Lee Johnson Wood. Mrs. Jones was of the Baptist faith, a graduate of Gilmer High School, past employee of Hampton Mills and worked for North Georgia Medical Center in the dietary department. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Rosalee Jones Ash.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Eugene Jones of the home in Ellijay, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Eugene and Debbie Jones of Ellijay, GA, Wayne and Angie Jones of Ellijay, GA and William "Squeak" and Kim Jones of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren, Jason Jones, Amanda Hensley, Josh Jones, Nathan Jones, Jacob Jones, Hope Jones, Katie Jones and Cheyenne Jones; brothers, Larry Wood of Dalton, GA, Bill Wood of Chattanooga, TN and Buddy Wood of Dalton, GA, sisters, Luella Spanburger of Dalton, GA, JoAnn Smith of Dalton, GA, Oleeta Taylor of Dalton, GA, Lorene Carnes of Dalton, GA and Odell Robinson of Knoxville, TN; 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 12th, 2014 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Jones, Rev. Sam May, and Rev. Bryan Hensley officiating. Music and vocals will be by the Little Baptist Church Choir and Rev. Bryan Hensley, Christy Hensley, and Missy Worley. Graveside interment will be in Mountaintown Baptist Church Cemetery, Ellijay, GA. Pallbearers will be Nathan Jones, Nathan Hensley, Jason Jones, Josh Jones, Jacob Jones, Clinton Jones, George Jones, and Kenny Fendley. Wayne Sluder will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 5pm until 9pm on Friday, January 10th, 2014 and all day Saturday, January 11th, 2014 until 9pm at the Logan Funeral Home.
