The Gilmer High School Lady Bobcats and Bobcats tennis teams have begun the season in breakout fashion with a 2-0 start from both squads, with wins over Woody Gap and Fannin County High School.
The Bobcats battled Woody Gap in the home opener, and due to the length of the trip to Woody Gap the teams played 8-Game Pro Sets for the all matches. The Lady “Cats” won 4-1 with the lone loss coming in the third singles.
Anna Westmoreland won first singles 8-0, and Ally Davis won the tie breaker 7-4 after splitting 8-8 in second singles. The first doubles team of Rachel Penland and Mattie Cagle won 8-2, while the second doubles team of Kali Malham and Chancey won 8-0.

The “Cats” clobbered the 515 northern neighbor Rebels, with the Lady “Cats” claiming a sweep, and the boys taking a 3-2 win.
