The Gilmer County Swim Team traveled south to Tifton to take part in the state recreational swim meet. The Bobcats went full “Beast Mode,” with 10 individual place winners and one relay team earning medals with a top eight or better placing.The “Cats’” top placing was second. Four swimmers earned this distinction: Grace Pleasant (100 Fr); Caleb Waddell (50 Fr); Ian Berry (50 Fr); and Ashton Stanley (25 Fr 9-10 boys).
Berry earned another medal with a fifth place finish in the 50 Fr for 7-8 boys. Rachell Waddell placed fifth in the 50 Breaststroke, while Law Lykins placed sixth in 50 Fr for 9-10 boys.
Olivia Lykins and David Brown both earned seventh place finished is the 25 Fly for 9-10 girls and the 50 Fly respectively. Lelia Farist placed eighth in the 50 Fly as well as Cadence Mohon, who earned an eighth place finish in the 25 Breaststroke in 9-10 girls.
The 9-10 medley relay team of Morgan White, Olivia Lykins, Cadence Mohon and Samantha Evans also earned an eighth place medal.
