Ellijay Heritage Day Announcement

Announcements

Saturday, September 13th, 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Harrison Park in Ellijay. This Saturday get yourself and your family down to Heritage Day at Harrison Park and join the biggest family reunion this town has ever seen. Better yet, gather the clan for the “other view” of an Ellijay parade, riding on your own family float or walking the route as a group.
A French family holds the official Guiness family reunion record, having gathered 4,514 relatives in 2012. I’m not saying we can beat that, and, technically, we’re not blood relatives, but this is a reunion of real family.

Families celebrate birthdays together. They gather to mark new beginnings. They re-connect after absences. Families reminisce about the good times and recall how they got through the bad. They honor loved ones lost and yearn for those far away. They laugh at old escapades and wonder at the changes they have seen. They play and laugh and cry, and they do it as one. In many ways, we ARE a family.

So get your lawn chairs and blankets. Pack a lunch or buy from some great food vendors. Music all afternoon.

The downtown parade starts at 10 am. The ribbon cutting for Harrison Park is set for 11. If you can help, call me at 706.635.4711 ext.5. If you can be in the parade, call Kathy Robinson at 706.625.2782.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re going to love Harrison Park. Come have some fun.

Ellijay Downtown Development Authority
