Psalm 139:13-15 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth your eyes saw my unformed body.”
O God, you are our creator. You made us for yourself to have fellowship with you and to do your work in the earth. Even before we were born you knew us. You saw us when we were conceived. You watched us as each part of our bodies developed.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We thank you that we are given such an awesome and complex body to live in on this earth. But even more wonderful will be the spiritual body that awaits us in heaven. It will be like unto the glorious resurrected body of Jesus. There will be no more disease. Death will have died. Pain will be in the past. Our minds will be clear and full of understanding. Our souls will be cleansed and perfect. There will be no barrier between us and you.
Help us to know that you did not create us just for this lifetime but for all time without limit. Our bodies, as wonderful as they are, are temporal, but our souls are eternal. We praise you in Jesus name.
