Gilmer High Welcomes New Principal

Ellijay, Ga – The Gilmer County Board of Education gladly welcomed the hiring of new Gilmer High School principal, Eric McFee.School superintendent Jason Kouns only had great things to say about McFee.

“As Superintendent of the Gilmer County Charter School System, I am honored to welcome Mr. Eric McFee, as the new Principal of Gilmer High School. With some 25 years of educational experience, administrative tenure at the Middle and High School level, and a proven record of school improvement, I look forward to the leadership that Mr. McFee will provide to the Students, Faculty, and Staff. I truly believe that Mr. McFee will take a very good school, and simply make it better. We should all be Bobcat Proud,”

said Kouns.

McFee and his wife, Karen, moved to Ellijay from Fort Myers, Florida after teaching for 26 years, serving two years as athletic director and 11 years in the administrative position.

When asked what he was most excited about McFee said that meeting the kids and beginning to build strong relationships with them was at the forefront of his excitement.
