ELLIJAY, Ga – The Board of Commissioners passed the 2015 operational budget and the purchasing of a new ambulance at JC Sanford’s last meeting as chairman. After four years, chairman Sandford presided over his last meeting along with post 2 commissioner Danny Hall.

Charlie Paris will be sworn in as Chairman and Travis Crouch will be sworn in as post 2 commissioner on December 29th at 11:00am to replace Sanford and Hall.

Crouch commended the BOC for allowing him and chairman elect Paris to be involved in creating the 2015 operational budget, which the board voted on and passed at $18,921,300 (see the document below for the full layout of the 2015 operational budget.)

The board also voted to purchase a new or used ambulance at $163,000. Sanford gave no reasoning as to why, but voted against the purchasing of the ambulance.

The ambulance is considered to be “used” since it is a demo and is therefore not required to go through the bidding process, according to county attorney David Clark.
