Featured Stories

FYN visited Mountain View Elementary School who participated in the 3rd grade writing challenge. Many essays were received and reviewed regarding the question, “How to pick someone to marry.”
Although there were many good essays written only two could be chosen as winners. The winners were Kaitlynne North and Kohan Davis.

Even though the two highlighted students are presented special prizes all students were excited over a free Wendy’s frosty and plenty of pencils. The end result of these challenges is hoped to be the creation of a special appreciation for writing and reading. Penmanship, content, and concentration of subject matter were especially important on this third question of the year. All the essays were exciting, thoughtful, and sometimes humorous. The students at Mountain View really put forth the effort on this challenge and a special shout out goes to the third grade classes.

CEO, Brian K. Pritchard spoke to the children regarding the importance of writing and reading. He also pointed out internet safety tips and answered questions from some of the children regarding this matter.

A special thanks goes to the third grade lead teacher, Nancy Vandiver and all the teachers, staff, and administrators who made the participation in this endeavor possible. Most of all, appreciation goes to all the students that participated. FYN’s also thanks the following sponsors for making this academic endeavor more exciting for these special children:

Wendy’s, Chick-fil-A, Sherwin Williams, Shottenkirk Ford, Dr. Craig Ajmo – Mountain Dental Association, O’Reilly’s, H&R Block and Russell’s Ellijay Tire Company.
