Mr. Raymond Arthur Sonnenberg, age 77 has passed away. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn Sonnenberg. Dear father of Allison (Bill) Craig and Norman (April). He was a loving brother of Janet and cherished grandfather of Amber and Austin. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Kathryn, sister Sharon Clayton and brother Kenneth.Ray served two years in the US Army Reserves. He was employed by Jones and Laughlin Steel Company as an electric furnace operator from 1964 thru 1983. In 1984 he worked for Inacomp Computers as a warehouse technician. In 1987 he landed a job at OE Automation, a computer leasing company where he managed the shipping department.

Ray’s hobbies were gardening of all types and cooking. Both were a real joy in his life. Ray and Evelyn loved to travel, with their last trip being Yellowstone Park, right before Evelyn was unable to travel due to her illness. Ray retired early and became a caretaker for Evelyn who passed away in 2005.

Following Evelyn’s passing, Ray was befriended by Sally Swayne. Sally brought joy and companionship to Ray throughout his final years. Ray was a loving husband and father who will be missed dearly for years to come.

Funeral service were March 7, 2015 at 12:00 PM at the Heritage Baptist Church 14 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, MI, US.
