Mr. James David Lowman, age 68 of the Cartecay community, Ellijay, Georgia passed on Thursday morning, May 21, 2015.Mr. Lowman was born November 5, 1946 in Ellijay, Georgia to his late parents Bart and Lola Hughes Lowman, and was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church, James served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a retiree of Mohawk Carpets. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Linda Lowman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Gerald Long, 151 Little Creek Crossing, Cherrylog, GA 30522, in memory of Mr. Lowman.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Johnny Jones of Ellijay, GA; Son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Crystal Lowman of Ellijay, GA; Grandchildren, Everett Norris and Johnathon Jones; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Jewell & George Devane of Social Circle, GA, Bessie and Harold Henson of Ellijay, GA, Betty Lowman of Atlanta, GA, Lois and Terry Leatherwood of Ellijay, GA, and Kathleen Lowman of Atlanta, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26th, 2015, from the Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Max Curtis, Rev. Kurt Wetzel and Rev. Jimmy Holsenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Johnny Jones, Willard Jones, Johnny Henson, Harold Henson, Gerald Long, Wallace Anderson and Floyd Edmondson

Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm Sunday, May 24, 2015, and all day Monday.
