The Gilmer High School Bobcats senior class has had nine different athletes sign scholarships to continue their sporting careers at the collegiate level. Here is some news for all the GHS friends that support the GHS wrestling team. The Bobcats won the team camp championship with a one point win over multiple time Missouri state champs, Neosho. We won a two point match over Edwardsville, out of Illinois and by 20 over Union County, of Kentucky (last year’s state runner up and the 2011 state champs). [Read more »]

The Gilmer Bobcats wrestling team took part in the state traditional tournament at the Gwinnet Arena Civic center. The Bobcats, looking to defend the traditional state title, as well as complete a sweep of both the state duals and traditional title for the third year in row, came up 11 points short, as the Heritage Generals finished with 139 total team points to Gilmer’s 128, making the Generals the AAA state traditional title. The Gilmer High School Wrestling program has already been working to better itself for next year’s season. On May 30th through June 1st, Gilmer hosted the Gilmer Granby Camp in the GHS Gym from 8:00-3:00, in which they wrestled with other teams from across the state of Georgia. On June 2nd-3rd, the team traveled to Chattooga to participate in the Chattooga War Lodge Duals. They continued their summer as they hosted the Gilmer Duals in the Gilmer Middle School gym for both middle and high schoolers. [Read more »]
