The Gilmer High School Wrestling Team took 11 wrestlers to the Sectional tournament held at Pickens High School this past weekend. Only the top eight place winners from each weight class can compete in the State Traditional Tournament. [Read more »] 

The Gilmer High School Bobcats football team held its annual end of the year banquet. The team celebrating a rare eight plus win season, plus a playoff birth, had a special speaker for the night. Georgia Speaker of the House, Ellijay native David Ralston, and addressed the team and all those in attendance. [Read more »] 

The Gilmer High School Bobcats wrestling team took the mats at both the Junior Varsity State Traditional tournament, held at Collins Hill, and Burnt Mountain Classic varsity tournament at Pickens High School. In Gilmer’s second ever appearance at the “King of the Hill” JV state tournament, the Bobcats won the title with 290 points, a full 59.5 points a head of second place finisher, the host, Collins Hill. The varsity, depleted by injuries, placed third at the Burnt Mountain Classic with 147 points, despite missing five starters. [Read more »] 

The Gilmer High School Bobcats football team traveled to Cartersville to take on the Purple Hurricanes. The “Cats” came up all wet as the Purple Hurricanes poured it on, in a 31-0 shutout victory. [Read more »] 

Gilmer High School's Tyler Bertolini was carted off the field during Friday nights varsity football loss to Cartersville with an ankle injury. He is currently seeking medical treatment. The injury has not been diagnosed yet. FYN will update when the extent of the injury is discovered.
