It’s Official – $1 Per Bag or Supersize it for $2

After much debate over trash disposal the BOC reached an agreement today. At a special called BOC meeting held at 10am it was decided to put in place a $1 fee per bag to dispose of residential trash, $2 if the bag exceeds 32 gal. There will be a measuring device at the sites.

The next 30 days will be spent making the necessary changes for Gilmer County to begin collecting for trash disposal at the sites. Actual charges will begin April 4th, the first Monday in April. This agreement is for a 90 day trial so the Board will be able to determine how well this will work. During the trial basis the Board will be busy conducting research to establish the best plan for future handling.

Fetchyournews.com will soon be posting additional details and video coverage of the entire meeting.
