Bobby Gene Flowers : Obituary

Mr. Bobby Gene Flowers, age 80 of Mineral Bluff, GA, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 31st, 2011 from the Floyd County Medical Center in Rome GA. He was born on January 15th, 1931 to his late parents Wallace Wendell and Ella Rae Bates Flowers in Tampa, FL. Mr. Flowers is a member of Sweet Gum Baptist Church and was a retired glass bottle maker with Thatcher Glass Company. He served his country honorably in the United States Army in the Korean War. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Chapter 28 of the Disabled American Veterans, P. O. Box 1380, Blue Ridge, GA 30513.

Survivors include wife of 35 years Margaret DeMar Flowers of the home in Mineral Bluff; daughters and sons-in-law Nancy & Johnny Godwin of Queen City, TX, Linda Hewitt of Riverview, FL, Theresa Flowers Lanier of Tampa, FL, Dale Bainbridge of Blue Ridge, GA, Wendy Bainbridge of Tampa, FL, Daleen Rey Simmons of Palestine, WV, Sheree Bainbridge of Ellijay, GA; sons Kenneth Doneghy of Queen City TX, John Scott & Becky DeMar of Mineral Bluff, GA; 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; sisters Doris F. Weisner of Brooksville, FL, Peggy F. Schultz of Tampa, FL.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4th, 2011 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Hughes and Col. George Pletcher officiating, vocals by Tammy Hughes. Military rites will follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavillion performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

Family will meet friends at the Logan Funeral Home one hour prior to the service and after the service.
