Burt Jones Parks : Obituary

Mr. Bert Jones Parks, age 87, of the Boardtown Community, Ellijay, Ga., passed from this life on Saturday, October 22nd, 2011 from the Wildwood Health Care in Talking Rock, Ga.
He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, born on April 8th, 1924 to his late parents Grover Charles and Rebecca Jones Parks and was employed as a caregiver. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church c/o Gary Hyde, 1560 N. Jones Mill Rd., Ellijay, Ga. 30540.

Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law Diane and Keith Parks of Ellijay, Ga., Lorena Parks Thompson of Ellijay, Ga.; son Steve B. Parks of Ellijay, Ga.; grandchildren and in-laws: Cindy and Matt Chastain of Ellijay, Ga., Nick Parks of N.C., Nickie and Chris Williamson of N.Y., Brandon Myers of Cherrylog, Ga., Andrea Ellis of Jacksonville, Fl.; great-grandchildren Luke Chastain and Cassidy Williamson; sister Jean Parks Waters of Ellijay, Ga.; brothers Lin, Burley and Bill Parks of Ellijay, Ga.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday October 24th from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Dotson, Rev. H.T. James and Rev. Charlie Mull officiating, vocals and music performed by Regina Morgan. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Michael Reed, Joe Parks, Monroe Parks, Keith Parks, Matt Chastain, Luke Chastain, Larsen McVey, Brandon McVey, Adam McVey, Joey Reed, Eddie Woodard.

Family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23rd at the Logan Funeral Home.
