Mr. Thomas Edward “Eddie” Gibson age 79 of New Hope Rd. Ellijay died Saturday January 7, 2012.
Mr. Gibson was born on November 22, 1932 in Gilmer Co. He is the son of the late Thomas Franklin Gibson and Bonnie Wheeler Gibson. He worked in the construction industry as a brick mason. Mr. Gibson is a US Navy Veteran and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his siblings Thelma Parks, Rosie Cagle, Gladys Dale, Nena Dale and Clinton Gibson.
Survivors include: Wife of 55 years: Winnie Stephens Gibson of the home; Daughters & son-in-law: Bonnie Gibson, Ellijay, Faye & Jimmy Crump, Ellijay; Son: Steve Gibson, Ellijay; Sister: Bessie Cagle, Ellijay; 5 Grandchildren: Matt & Chris Starks both of Kansas City, Mark Raburn, Dalton, Tyler & Kasey Gibson both of Ellijay; 5 Great grandchildren: Landon, Sadie, Daniel Ashlyn & Ava; Several nieces & nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday January 10, 2012 at 2pm from the New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jones officiating.
Interment will be held in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Rites by the North GA Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held Monday January 9th from 4pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
