Donald Bossa was sentenced to 20 years in prison this week. The seventy-seven year old Bossa was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter, two counts of tampering with evidence, and giving a false report of crime, according to a May 7th disposition.
On September 14th, Bossa placed a 911 call, saying he was victim to a home invasion at Coosawattee River Resort. He said he was taken hostage by two white males, forced to drive to another location and then escaped. According to Bossa’s story, after escaping, he found his wife dead upon returning home. Later the same day, Bossa confessed to murdering his wife Barbara. Previous records show that Bossa had a history of violence toward his wife. Authorities said that Mr. and Mrs. Bossa fell into an argument, which led to a struggle, ending in the death of Barbara Bossa.
Responding to the verdict, District Attorney Joe Hendricks said,
“The twenty year sentence in this case provides some measure of justice for the killing of Barbara Bossa. I hope that the conclusion of this case will provide some measure of comfort for the victim’s family.”
