Rev. Ernest Land : Obituary

Rev. Ernest Land age 92 of Mt. Pleasant Dr. Ellijay died Tuesday June 19, 2012.

Rev. Land was born July 3, 1919 in Gilmer County to the late John B. Land and Violet M. Ledford Land. He was a Veteran serving in WWII, a self-employed farmer, and a member of the Mt. Pleasant “Buckhorn” Church. Rev. Land is preceded in death by son, Junior Land.

Survivors Include: Wife: Dora C. Land, of the home; Sons: Wendell Land, Ellijay, Rev. Edwin Land, MCaysville, GA, Harold Land, Ellijay, Melvin Land, Ellijay; Daughters: Betty Allen, Blue Ridge, GA, Linda Hyde, Ellijay; 7 Grandchilren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday June 21st at 11 a.m. from the Mt. Pleasant “Buckhorn” Church with Re. James Worley and Rev. Leon Pettit officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends Tuesday June 19th from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and all day Wednesday June 20th until 9 p.m. at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
