Matthew 6:1-4 “Be careful not to do your ‘acts of righteousness’ before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward in heaven…But when you give to the needy, so not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
Our Father in Heaven, holy is your name. You are the audience of one for whom all our acts of righteousness should be done. The reward which the righteous soul seeks is not material but an inner pleasure that we have pleased you. You have many rewards of grace for those who perform on your stage such as a greater involvement in your kingdom and a clearer vision of life.
We want to walk with you today and be good for goodness sake. Help us to examine our motives and not do the right things with the wrong motive. There are so many who need our help. Sometimes a gift of support can spell the difference between courage and defeat.
Bless those who need someone to believe in them. We pray in Jesus name.
Amen.
