“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. Like a gold ring or an ornament of gold is a wise rebuke to a listening ear.” Proverbs 25:11-12.
O Divine Word, Lord Jesus, you are the fullest expression of God to man. You are the Word of Love and Grace. It was beautifully spoken in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” We love the way that you speak to us through your Holy Spirit.
We know that we need your wisdom in speaking to others. Words can change the direction of life. They can help or harm, heal or hurt. In our relationships today, help us to be able to speak a word that is fitting to the situation.
Give us the ability to be truthful and tender. May our speech be enabled by your love and grace so that it will be received and treasured like gold and silver.
