“Check It Out” at the Gilmer Library, Week of 11/21 to 11/28

GCL will close at 5:00 PM on 11/25/15 and will be closed 11/26/15 & 11/27/15 for the Thanksgiving Day holidays.

The 22^nd Annual Festival of Trees Celebration will be held Monday, 11/30/15 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Entertainment will be provided by the Gilmer High Jazz Cats and Chorus from Mountain View Elementary School. Activities will be available for all ages and a visit from Santa.

We are gaming all day long in the library. All sorts of games will be available for you and your family to play. Board games. Card Games. Just drop in anytime. All ages welcome.

 

Teen Programs

Teen Coding
Monday, November 23 @ 5:00 PM
Come learn the basics of coding.  Each meeting will build on the previous, but you can work at your own pace.  No computer at home? No problem!  Join at any time!  Ages 12 and up.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

The Bookshelf volunteers are continuing our annual tradition of wrapping gift books purchased from the shop and during the Festival of Trees.  All through the year we set aside especially beautiful or interesting books for Christmas gifts and you’ll find something special for every person on your list.

Don’t forget to pick up a stash of magazines for road trips, a true bargain at $.25 each.  Magazines are displayed on the rack outside the Bookshelf and in the non-fiction “back room” as well.

Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays.
