FetchYourNews.com spoke with Gilmer County Commission Chair Charlie Paris who has confirmed Governor of Georgia Nathan Deal has declared a State of Emergency for Gilmer County due to the flooding on Christmas Eve. This also includes Fannin County and Pickens County. Additional counties may be added as needed.

Christmas Eve Flood Emergency Event 2015
Heavy rains and thunderstorms throughout the night created flooding in several areas in Gilmer County on Christmas Eve 2015. Paris told us over 60 roads in Gilmer County were affected by the flooding and as of 4pm December 24th Yukon Road and Legion Road were still closed.
